In the heart of Surat, Gujarat, Manika Atelier has unveiled a workspace that challenges the traditional "corporate" aesthetic. Spanning 200 sq. ft., Studio Vistara is a masterclass in how small-scale commercial design can deliver a massive visual impact. Under the creative direction of Founder Vanshika Ahuja, this project serves as a bold interpretation of the modern executive suite, one that balances the weight of authority with the grace of high-end hospitality.

The Design Intent: Commanding & Comfortable

The brief for Studio Vistara was clear: create a space that reflects power without being cold. The result is a dual-cabin office that feels more like a private lounge than a rigid workspace. The design intent centers on "Design-Led Ambition," utilizing a rich palette of materials and statement elements to ensure that the environment is as inspiring as it is functional.

Materiality and Textures

The project is a study in layered textures. One of the most striking features is the seamless blend of:

Stone & Marble: The expansive, oval-shaped executive desk in a cool grey stone acts as the room's anchor, while the marble flooring, detailed with black and gold inlay, frames the room with geometric precision.
Warm Accents: The use of burnt orange upholstery on the executive and visitor chairs provides a necessary warmth, preventing the marble and stone from feeling overly sterile.
Linear Sophistication: Vertical fluted wall panels and slatted ceiling details add height and architectural rhythm to the 200 sq. ft. footprint.

Artistry in Details

Every corner of Studio Vistara features a "moment." Behind the main desk, a neoclassical-inspired wall with molded panels meets a contemporary, circular marble wall art piece. This circular motif is further emphasized by floating shelves that display curated artifacts, adding a personal, "atelier" touch to the professional setting.

The lighting is equally intentional. A sculptural, wave-like neon light fixture hangs above the desk, breaking the straight lines of the room and serving as a piece of functional art. This is complemented by a fluted glass partition that allows light to permeate through the cabin while maintaining a sense of executive privacy.
