This architectural masterpiece is the vision of acclaimed interior designer Tusshar Joshi, Founder and Principal Designer of Utkarsh Vastukaran Designs. Rooted in a philosophy that views design as the intersection of usability, visual appeal, and emotion, Joshi’s work on Rani Ka Bagh is a powerful demonstration of how contemporary imagination can breathe new life into timeless heritage.

A Dialogue Between Eras: Design Rooted in History

Rani Ka Bagh is not merely an architectural space; it is an experience suspended between eras. Inspired by the majestic Red Fort of Delhi and the timeless aesthetics of Rajputana and Mughal architecture, the venue’s design is a seamless confluence of history, imagination, and identity.

The striking, single-tone red sandstone façade, rich yet subdued, exudes a palpable sense of warmth and grandeur, creating a dialogue between earth and sky, past and present. This design choice, inspired by India's iconic structures, symbolizes both strength and artistry, anchoring the venue in a legacy of resilience and beauty.

Rani Ka Bagh stands as a poetic tribute to India’s royal past while celebrating the transformative power of design to evoke emotion, memory, and awe.

The Signature Elements: Symmetry and Storytelling

What makes Rani Ka Bagh truly extraordinary is the symbolism and craftsmanship embedded in every detail:

  • The Jodi Dome Concept: At the heart of the architectural symphony lies the iconic Jodi Dome concept. These twin domes, handcrafted in the characteristic red sandstone, embody perfect balance and unity. They stand as guardians of legacy, reflecting the Indian philosophy of duality, strength and grace, tradition and reinvention, framing the entire structure with rhythm and purpose.

  • The Royal Durbar Platform: Adding a layer of majesty is the elevated platform above the main stage. This thoughtful element recreates the nostalgia of a royal durbar, allowing guests a cinematic vantage point overlooking the sprawling lawns, intricate fountains, and timeless arches. Every celebration held here is transformed into a moment of history retold.

Every stone, dome, and curve of Rani Ka Bagh has been envisioned to create an experience, not merely an architectural space.

  • The Handcrafted Poetry: This is not a space built by mechanical precision, but through the patient devotion of artisans from across India. The property is a showcase of handcrafted poetry in stone, featuring delicately carved Jaalis that filter sunlight into lace-like patterns, and intricate floral motifs reminiscent of Mughal gardens.

Symbolism in Stone: The Fountain Court

The central focus of the expansive landscape is the stunning water feature, where symbolism flows naturally:

  • Vedic Balance: The foundations are carved from pristine white stone, offering a brilliant contrast to the rich red facade. Here, elephant motifs, representing power and protection, stand proudly alongside fish patterns, a symbol of prosperity and continuity. This imagery mirrors the Vedic balance between strength and abundance, making the space visually beautiful and spiritually resonant.

  • Tranquility and Symmetry: The symmetry of these fountains, perfectly aligned with the domes and arches, evokes the tranquility of Mughal gardens, where architecture and nature dance in unison, elevating the experience of every guest.

The Magic of Illumination

As dusk falls, Rani Ka Bagh undergoes a theatrical transformation. The soft, golden illumination causes the red sandstone to glow like embers. Shadows play across the arches, creating a stunning visual narrative that breathes life into the structure, turning the space from reality to reverie under the stars.

The space transforms, almost theatrically, as if the structure itself is alive, breathing, glowing, and narrating tales of grandeur under the stars.

Tusshar Joshi's Philosophy: Emotion and Authenticity

For Tusshar Joshi, design is never about form or function alone; it is about emotion and meaning. Having refined his skills through a career spanning prestigious firms and high-stakes projects like Hotel Noor Mahal Palace and Colonel Saab in London, his approach blends academic rigor with emotional intuition.

Joshi’s design philosophy, deeply rooted in the memory of his ancestral haveli, centers on authenticity. “True luxury,” as his work suggests, “lies not in excess, but in authenticity.” Rani Ka Bagh is a heartfelt expression of this idea, a reminder that India’s design DNA, the ability to weave grandeur with intimacy, and ornamentation with order, can be reshaped for the present moment, creating something familiar, yet astonishingly new.

For Tusshar Joshi, design is not merely about form or function, it is about emotion and meaning. Rani Ka Bagh, to him, was never a project; it was a heartfelt expression of an idea.
